HUMAN URBAN NET – Mission Statement
Mission of Human Urban Net (HUM) is Psychosociological research, monitoring
and analysis of human rights issues with aim of supporting society democratization in transition.
Our mission is trust in people qualified
by prudence. We entrust people with the task to shape theirs own lives. We believe in individual initiative are the indispensable
tools of development.
Human Urban Net is striving to be corrective, stimulating and catalizing factor
of reform, transitional flows in SCG which is burdened by postwar and postcommunist problematic.
Human Urban Net main activities are in the area of human
rights promotion and marginalised social groups protection; alleviation of different forms of poverty and social problems.
HU Net also affirms strategies for poverty decrease through recognition of poverty
as key socio-humanitarian problem of SCG, Balkan region and SE Europe.
VISION
We consider negation
of human rights essential part of poverty issue, because poverty is non-fulfillment of human rights. Rights for nourishment,
decent life, education and work, right on full participation in processes of social development are not only main goals of
development, but also basic human rights.
We consider that each
citizen of our country should be empowered to attain his/her right to work, according to his/her capabilities
and education as well as express and realize his/her capabilities.
We consider the most
sensitive and adequate definition of poverty by UN Committee for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: “A human condition
characterized by the sustained or chronic deprivation of the resources, capabilities, choices, security and power necessary
for the enjoyment of an adequate standard of living and other civil, cultural, economic, political and social rights." (E/C.12/2001/10 – Nobel Prize economist Amartya Sen).
Taking into consideration:
1. former authoritarian
experience of political system in our country,
2. intensive and radical
transitional changes,
3. deep economy and
social crisis,
4. big moral
and human values distortions in all social strata,
5. full-blown corruption
in all segments,
HUM considers individuals freedom can be limited only with human
rights .
Individual freedom and iniciative are above all collective fredom.
By realizing short- and long-term goals and executing one-year
plans HU Net considers itself able to gradually contribute to poverty reduction by human rights affirmation.
Those are the only
means of reaching out towards moral and ethical advances and aim for society that considers human rights a guarantee for a
constant of it’s social system.

" Discipline gives total freedom; it allows you to go beyond your limitations,
to break through boundaries and reach the highest goal. The path to discipline will not only save a person's
life, it will also give it meaning. How? By introducing him to deeper joys and deeper longings, by creating a silence
in which the whisper of the heart can be heard. Truly, discipline is the road to liberation."

An alternative model conceptualizes how the Internet is structured technically, socially, and socio-technically.
The term socio-technical refers to an ensemble, a practice, or an analysis of these that integrates social and technical elements
in a way that reveals their interactions and inter-penetration. In conventional approaches, an ensemble could be seen as wholly
social, such as an organization, a high school for example. More accurately, an analysis of the high school could be wholly
social, and focus on such behaviors as the formations of informal student cliques. Or the ensemble could be seen as wholly
technical. The high school could be the subject of a technical analysis of its structures: the likelihood that it would collapse
in an earthquake. A socio-technical analysis of behavior in the high school would focus on a mix of social and technical elements.
For example, if the classroom chairs are bolted to the floor in some rooms and not in others, one may examine different kinds
of class organization and communication in these rooms which different physical capabilities. The structuring of spaces, such
as rooms that are assigned to student clubs, may influence the ways that cliques form and how they manage their social boundaries
with technologies (i.e., closed doors). High schools are neither completely social entities nor completely technological entities,
even though social psychologists and structural engineers may analysis them as if they were. Socio-technical analysts see
social behavior and the organization of artifacts (such as buildings or web sites) in a much more integrative manner.
